Recorded at the University of Ottawa's Freiman Hall with Julian Bertino (engineer) and Hayden McGowan (producer), Dual is a deliberate and tasteful fusion of contemporary Canadian stylings. The album features pairings of dramatic art song with sparse and contemplative environments, indulging the listener in a curious blend of intensity and stillness.

According to Ensemble Allure's Artistic Director, Stephen Eckert, "Recording Dual was a joy and a practice in exploration. We challenged ourselves to explore the depth and breadth of the music while honouring our own artistic interpretations, and I think we struck a balance that’s reverent to the notation and our own voices."
